The Valencian Community was the seventh cheapest autonomous region, behind Castilla-La Mancha: 882 euros per square metre. The second-hand real estate market in the Community in December 2017 had an average price of 1,305 euros per square meter, a decrease of 0.04 percent compared to November, while year-on-year there was an increase of 0.73 percent, the least notable in the country.
This is stated in a report by Pisos.com which notes that every six months, the price of second-hand housing rose by 2.40% in the Community and quarterly, by 1.29%. As a result, the Valencian Community was the seventh cheapest autonomous region, behind Castilla-La Mancha (882 euros per square metre).
In terms of provinces, in December, the provinces of Alicante (0.74%) and Valencia (0.41%) rebounded slightly, while Castellón (-0.15%) showed one of the least significant falls in the country. Compared to last year, Alicante (2.42%) was the fifth fastest growing Spanish province, with decreases in both Valencia (-1.18%) and Castellón (-3.60%).
In matters of price, Alicante was the most expensive province in the autonomous region with an average price of 1,496 euros per square metre, while Valencia and Castellón were somewhat cheaper, with an average value of 1,160 euros per square metre and 1,084 euros per square metre, respectively.
Valencian capitals
Regarding the Valencian capitals, Alicante (1.01%) was the second Spanish capital where the price of second-hand housing rose most each month, and Valencia (0.94%), was the third. On the other hand, Castellón de la Plana (-0.34%) fell slightly.
Regarding December 2016, Alicante (2.86%) showed the sixth highest increase in Spain and Valencia (2.13%) the ninth position. In the case of Castellón de la Plana (-2.86%), it fell in a controlled manner.
Moraira, the most expensive municipality in the Community
On the other hand, in relation to the Valencian municipalities, Alfafar, with an increase of 16.89%, occupied the first place in the national list of quarterly increases. In the area of decreases, Alberic (-7.19%), was the Spanish town that led the national ranking of falls.
Similarly, in 2017, Alfafar again stood out as the fourteenth largest municipality in the country (+15.58%), while Paiporta (-13.74%), was the town in the region that was most adjusted in this period.
In terms of prices, the town of Moraira in Alicante was the most expensive municipality in the Valencian Community with an average price of 2,578 euros per square metre, while the Valencian municipality of Carlet was the fifth cheapest in Spain, with an average value of 612 euros per square metre.
